Shadowcrest is in the
College Station Police
Department's Sector C,
Beat 70, supervised by
Sgt. Danny Junek
(979) 764-6232
The city is divided into three sectors, with each sector under the command of a Police
Lieutenant. The sectors are divided into beats with a total of eight beats. A Patrol
Sergeant is assigned to each beat. The Sergeant has primary responsibility for quality of
life and crime issues affecting their assigned beats. Patrol Officers are assigned to beats
for periods of not less than one year so that they can become familiar with their area of
responsibility.
Any issue affecting a particular sector or beat can be brought to the appropriate
supervisor for attention. A picture of the Beat Sergeant and Sector Lieutenant are located
within the beat links to provide a face and name to the supervisor responsible for that
area.
The College Station Police Department can be most effective when working in partnership
with stakeholders in the problem solving process. This structure will help in building
effective partnerships and as always we welcome input, feedback and support from our
community.

Covenants and Restrictions
Sections I - III
Since the time when our neighborhood began 30 years have passed. Between September 2011
and 2012 we have the opportunity to modify our Covenants and Restrictions.
The Board of Directors is now beginning the task of identifying the areas that need updating and
will make a proposal to the residents when their work is done.
There are many areas where changing times bring the need to bring our Covenants and
Restrictions up to date. We need to change the wording regarding Satellite Dishes. There is
currently no guideline describing the installation of solar panels; nothing describing the number of
unrelated persons living under one roof; limited means of enforcement of the restrictions and
nothing describing the installation of xeriscapes for example.
We need your ideas and suggestions. If you have a suggestion for us, use the Contact Us page to
let us know about it. After September, 2012 our window of opportunity will be closed.
To make any proposed changes, a 51% favorable vote from all the property owners is required.
We will be contacting you this year regarding this opportunity and welcome your assistance and
support.

Rock Prairie Road Bridge
The City continues to progress in its upgrade of the Rock Prairie Road Bridge. As you may recall, the City
was successful in working with the Bryan-College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Texas
Department of Transportation in securing nearly $5 Million in funds to upgrade the Rock Prairie Road Bridge
and intersection. Recently, the City Council approved a design contract with an engineering firm who has
been working on developing the plans. At the same time, City staff has been busy developing preliminary
concepts for the widening of Rock Prairie Road (east and west) and securing the right of way necessary for
such a project. In 2008, College Station voters approved bond funds to allow the City to acquire this right of
way. Additional funds for the actual construction will need to be secured in the future.
Scott & White and The Med
Both local hospital anchors continue their work on expansion. The Med recently celebrated the opening of
its newly expanded emergency center, adding five new beds and significantly decreasing emergency room
wait times. Scott & White continues to progress in the construction of their new hospital which is slated to
open in 2013.
